Abyssus dropped last year, and on the whole, it was a decent first-person shooter with a well-implemented roguelite wrapper.
It’s set deep under the ocean, with between one and four players investigating a mission gone wrong to a mysterious underwater civilisation. It’s not quite BioShock, but you can tell that devs at DoubleMoose Games spent a lot of time in Rapture, you know?!

Yesterday, on June 25, Abyssus returned with a bang splash via a massive free content update that dropped alongside the console version of the game, on PS5 and Xbox Series specifically.
In fact, there’s a physical edition of the game on PS5. It’s called the Brine Edition, and it comes with four different cosmetic DLCs.
Helpfully, Abyssus landed on both PS5 and Xbox with cross-platform play, so you should be able to find a party before diving in if you don’t want to play on your own.
The update for existing PC-based players includes a new area, which is littered with fresh-faced enemies. We also got an updated skill tree, further expanding build variety (you would think). Similarly, there’s also a new God and new blessings.
There’s a trailer for Abyssus Patch 1.3 below for your viewing pleasure, and I’m sure the devs would also appreciate me telling you that there’s the new Brinerot Supports Pack, which you can buy if you’re feeling generous.
