Last week, on September 9th to be precise, we got the full release of Asgard’s Fall – Viking Survivors on PC (Win), after the game had been in Early Access since April 2025.
Between then and now, developer Soulpotion has gone about building out its bullet heaven, which, as the title subtly implies, is heavily inspired by Norse mythology. In that time, the studio has added new characters and locations, and bulked out its gameplay systems.
The big update to Asgard’s Fall added a whole heap of new content to the game for the 1.0 launch, including a new character, the Druid, and a proper final boss in the form of Hel himself!
In fact, it sounds like Soulpotion has been adding a lot of quality-of-life improvements in the hood, including weapon skins for each character and compendium pages for all abilities. You can also expect to see a bunch of tweaking and balancing in the runes.

The Warpaints system gets a lot of attention too, as now you’ll find that higher realms are dropping improved Warpaints, and they can be upgraded using the new resource: power shards.
The only downside is a progress wipe, which the developers had to do as part of the update. If you don’t mind starting from scratch, or if you’re interested in playing a Norse mythology-themed survivors-like with really cute pixel art graphics, head over to Steam.
If you’d like to see it in action, check out the trailer below. If you’d like to read more, I did play Asgard’s Fall: Origins, but that was a year before the game hit Early Access, and much has changed since then.
