It has been two years since Ravenswatch first launched, and in that time the game has grown via several DLC drops to include a dozen playable characters – and you can make that 13 after a new one landed today: Kintaro.

If you’re not already in the loop, the game has a focus on hero characters drawn from different mythologies and fairy tales. The co-op systems built around these legends have helped Passtech’s action-roguelite stand out from the crowd of similar Hades-likes – here’s my Ravenswatch review if you’d like to find out more.

The newest addition to Ravenswatch lands today in a paid-for DLC pack, which is available on PC, PS4/5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

On top of that, there’s also a free update available to all players, which offers a major reworking of the game’s talents (more than 50 have been “tweaked, buffed, or replaced”).

As you can see in the infographic below, Custom Lobbies have also been added, alongside the usual raft of QoL updates.

As for the main event, you’ll have to pay £6.99 or the regional equivalent to get access to Kintarō, who comes to the game with a big axe and a rather useful bear companion called Kuma.

This duality means both complexity and flexibility. “Riding Kuma, players can slice through Nightmares with his claws,” the Steam page explains. “On foot, they can swing Kintaro’s axe and unleash devastating combo attacks with his carnivorous sidekick.”

If you’d like to see the new addition to Ravenswatch doing their thing, there’s a new promo trailer below, embedded for your convenience.

What’s more, there are always going to be new lists for emerging trends as well as fresh titles to highlight. This is because my backlog is embarrassingly long, and so I’m always trying to balance the new games that arrive in my inbox with playing the stuff I already have.
