During today’s PC Gaming Show, one of the first roguish announcements that caught our eye was a new release window for Serious Sam: Shatterverse. We don’t yet have a confirmed release date for the game, but we now know it will be arriving in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
Announced this March in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, Serious Sam: Shatterverse is a co-op roguelite FPS for 1–5 players. The game takes place across shifting universes where players battle Mental’s hordes, unlock powerful boons, experiment with run-altering modifiers, and team up with alternate versions of Sam in a quest to defeat five deadly lieutenants and restore the fractured Shatterverse.

Along with the release window, it was revealed that the next playtest for the game will be going live soon. The first playtest for Shatterverse went live earlier this year and allowed the devs to gain some invaluable feedback. You can sign up for the playtest by now on Steam.
