Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons Boosted is the new name for Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons, the roguelike platform game based on the classic arcade franchise.
I first covered the update a few weeks ago, when the details surrounding the new overhaul were first revealed. Now the eponymous Boosted update is available to download, and it adds a raft of new gameplay features, including new challenge rooms and in-game items, as the developers look to turn around the game’s disastrous launch.
The new content will come via Bub’s brother Bob, who offers bonus stages or lets you skip floors. The game also comes with much higher drop rates and therefore a rebalanced experience that should be more accessible.
The downside of these far-sweeping changes and new level types is that your old save isn’t going to work and you’ll have to start from scratch after deleting your file save.
“As the update includes adjustments to the unlock and clear conditions for missions, playing the updated game without deleting your existing save data […] may cause the missions to not function correctly,” the update on Steam explained.
Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons Boosted is out now on PC (Win), PS5, and Nintendo Switch, and just for funsies, the original Bubble Symphony is included with the game.
