Dieathlon isn’t a roguelike game, as far as I can tell, but it looks pretty cool, and I wanted to write about it anyway. So here we are.
Dieathlon is a first-person shooter by Long Void Games, and it’s about descending a mountain and blasting monsters with your trusty shotty. I’m not sure why you’re on the mountain and why you’re heavily armed, but I always find it’s best not to question these things.

The game doesn’t use proc-gen to create its icy slopes; instead, there are multiple routes down the mountain, each one complete with obstacles and secrets. Meanwhile, gameplay differentiation comes from the builds you create using the perk system.
There’s not much more to tell you right now, to be fair, other than the fact that the game has a new reveal trailer, embedded below, and there’s a new release date for the game, to go with the announcement of a new publisher, Loopr Partners.
The release date is December 10, at which point Dieathlon will be available to buy on Steam PC (Win). However, there is already a demo that you can try if you’d like to see the downhill drama for yourself.
