With Steam Next Fest on the horizon and set to run between October 19-26, you can bet your procedurally-generated bum that there is going to be a huge number of interesting demos to play in the next couple of weeks. One of them is called CitaDrill.
Developed by Studio Moka and published by CobraTekku Games (Footgun Underground), CitaDrill sounds like a fascinating combination of ideas, and the game’s stark-but-striking visual style only reinforces its promise, I think.

The game is a roguelite fusion of city-building and drilling, but with the added twist that your home is also a giant drill.
You take control of a race of talking cat-people, and with your feline friends, you must dig and expand your city-sized drill while unlocking blueprints for future efforts.
Your city is protected by a giant dome, and you must dig through the game’s infested world in search of resources. It sounds like a cross between Dome Keeper and Ball X Pit’s meta-game, and I’m intrigued.
There’s a new trailer that shows CitaDrill off, if you’d care to see it in action. Alternatively, you can head over to Steam and download the demo and/or wishlist the game.
