Developer Thing Trunk has just confirmed that its papercraft roguelite deckbuilder has made the move over to consoles!

The announcement presser confirmed a couple of interesting details, including releases across a near-full slate of platforms: PS4/5, Switch, and Xbox (One/Series). Of course, that’s on top of Hellcard’s original release on PC (Win) last year.

In fact, I played a few rounds of Hellcard when it left Early Access in February 2024, and my launch impressions were pretty positive. This is an engaging but accessible strategy game and I think it’s also probably going to be a good gateway game for younger tactictians thanks to its approachable papercraft style.

Hellcard supports both solo play and online co-op, which is always a nice option to have, if you’ve got willing friends. The console version of the game also comes bundled with the Bruja the Blood Witch DLC, which adds a whole extra class and more than 100 new cards to the base game.

Watch the launch trailer below if you want to see Hellcard in action! If you want to find out more about the game, get store links, or explore any of the other games in the same series, head over to Thing Trunk’s official website.

What’s more, there are always more on the horizon because my back catalogue of games is embarrassingly huge, and I’m always trying to balance trying new games and playing stuff I already own.
