Welcome, Dear Reader, to this week’s edition of Gone Rogue, the next round-up in my ongoing mission to seek out new roguelikes and new roguish experimentation; to boldly go deeper into the release schedule than any self-respecting journalist has gone before.
There’s no Star Trek in this week’s article, before anyone gets excited. There are, however, several exciting games up for consideration. My personal highlights are:
- Shadowed: The Demon Castle of Ooe is a ninja-themed turn-based roguelike, and it’s my highlight this week.
- NovaMundi has a great setting and sounds really interesting from a mechanical point of view.
- Perfect Teams sounds like my kind of silly with its surreal unit combos and irreverent sense of humour.
- Doomsday has a fun theme and the description sounds great. I mean, who doesn’t want to take over the world?!
- Melt Them All, the final game, looks cute and I like the idea of mashing roguishness with automation.
As regulars will know by now, these round-ups pass on prologue releases, demos, naughty games, and anything super sketchy.
Other than that, it has been a quiet week on PC with most people focused on Steam Next Fest, but I’ve still found as many different releases as possible. There’s also a fair few that have migrated from PC to console, so scroll down and take a look for yourself!
