Release date alert – it’s time to fire up the news klaxon! That’s because, as announced during the Upload VR Showcase, Paint the Town Red VR is heading to Steam, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest 2/3 on March 14, 2024.

Many of you will already be familiar with Paint the Town Red, but for the uninitiated, the game is a bloody-knuckled first-person voxel-based brawler with a roguish spin made by South East Games. I tried to pick a screenshot for the VR game that really captures the spirit of the experience.

Paint the Town Red has been out on PC for yonks – it hit early access all the way back in 2015 – and the game landed its first right hook on consoles in 2021. This new virtual version of the game will join the fight in 2024.

For those of you who already own the game on Steam, you will be able to get the VR version for $10 as DLC. Everyone else is going to have to slap a crisp $20 on the bar before getting stuck into either the base game or the new VR edition.

Now, smash your finger on the right side of your mouse and watch the trailer below, you brute.
