Teufelskreis is a roguelike roulette deckbuilder with a clever name and a sinister setting

Teufelskreis landed in my inbox earlier this week, and today the roguelike roulette deckbuilder arrived on Steam, ready for wishlisting.

If you’re wondering what the name Teufelskreis means, that was my first question, too. Developer L0rne explained it to me via email, revealing that it’s German for “devil’s circle”, which makes perfect sense in a roguelite about roulette.

The central idea behind Teufelskreis is that you’re playing roulette against a corporate AI. You’ll be trying to avoid “termination” by playing tarot cards to influence the odds in your favour, while the AI corrupts the table against you.

I’m strangely charmed by the prospect of an occult corporate mystery that unfolds across multiple runs, and I also like the immersive horror atmosphere, which reminds me a little of Inscryption and Buckshot Roulette.

There’s no release date yet, but if you’d like to know more, head over to Steam, where Teufelskreis will be available on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC.
