Earlier this year the lovely folks over at Eremite Games teased us via a roadmap of content for their superlative roguelite RTS, Against the Storm. Now, just a few weeks later, the studio has released patch 1.2, bringing a range of improvements to the game.
According to the presser, the patch brings: “an expedition’s worth of new content, including new Blight Post upgrades, new dialogue options, and a new Trends panel.”
The Trends Panel is available from the start of the game and is intended to better communicate the state of your settlement, where your production is heading, and how you can optimise things better. The panel has four segments: Goods, History, Recent, and Operations.
Eremite has also made some changes to the Blight Post, including a new model and two upgrade tiers. We’re given a couple of examples, such as faster Purging Fire production, increased Blight Fighter speed, and more “exciting” options such as “Blight Automaton – a Rainpunk construct that moves around the settlement and helps burn Blightrot Cysts during the storm.”
On top of all that fun stuff there’s a raft of bug fixes, UI tweaks, and balance adjustments. With this update, the studio are “introducing new dialogue for Lori, new custom icons for all event working effects, new illustrations for world events that previously had placeholder art, a ton of new sound effects (for world events and UI elements), and official support for Latin American Spanish.” Phew.
If you want to get into the nitty gritty, there’s a ton of additional detail over on the Steam update post, as well as a quick update on the new additions to the Supporter Pack, which just got a bit fatter.
