Clumsy Bear Studio has served up the first playable demo for its upcoming culinary roguelike deckbuilder, Hungry Horrors.
The premise for this one sounds completely off the wall, as instead of battling monsters in a traditional fashion, you serve up authentic dishes to curb their cravings. During encounters, you match dishes to monsters’ preferences or risk becoming their lunch.
Fresh out of the oven, the Steam demo includes two handcrafted biomes, six distinctive horrors to feed, two boss fights, four NPCs, and a variety of dishes to whip up.
The full game will expand upon this offering, with at least 10 biomes, new monsters, bosses, and special event rooms. It will also expand the range of dishes and feature a fully developed story which will conclude with a fiery final showdown with a dragon.
Hungry Horrors is planned to launch first on PC (Steam, Itch, and GOG) at an unconfirmed date. Later down the road, Clumsy Bear also plans to bring the game to mobile devices (Android and iOS) and consoles (Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch).
