Slay the Spire 2 is shaping up to be a fine sequel to the definitive roguelike deckbuilder, with more characters, more cards, and better-looking visuals across the board.
Today, Mega Crit updated its Early Access deckbuilder with a bunch of new cards, balance changes, and modding features, all as part of the latest update to the beta version of the game.
If you’re not already part of the beta branch for Slay the Spire 2 and you want to play with the new cards, you’ll need to join that version of the game. To do so, head to your Steam library, right-click on the game’s name, select Properties, and you’ll find the beta build in the Game Versions & Betas section – select that, and you’re golden.
The update includes a range of new multiplayer-focused cards, with most characters getting three new cards for use in the co-op portion of the game. What’s more, the patch includes a nice injection of new features for the modding community, too.
The blog post shared on Steam mentioned the usual suspects are coming, so naturally, you can expect “a ton of fixes, balance changes, some UX additions […] and new art additions–including some animations for the latest boss, Aeonglass.”
If you’re not on the beta branch, the new content will find its way into the main version of the game soon enough. However, if you can’t wait to taste what Mega Crit is cooking, you can always get started earlier.
