Regular readers may already be aware of my entirely positive opinion of Path of Achra, a barbaric fantasy roguelike with auto-battler tendencies and some delightful build breaking mechanics.

Achra is a harsh and unforgiving place full of giant beasties, cruel enemies, and powerful magic. Developer Ulfsire did an extraordinary job with the game and that’s why I am delighted to see that a follow-up is in the works.

Lands of Achra is the name of the game, and it’s coming to PC at some point in the year 2025. In this sequel, players will build “a hero, monster or nation” and then make war via “brutal autobattles”.

The new Steam page for Lands of Achra will continue “the universe of Path of Achra” and is “inspired by Conquest of Elysium.” On top of that reverent nod, a bunch of potential builds were alluded to, alongside game-changing artifacts, the construction of buildings, and a system of “acts” that promises even more potential systemic variety.

“Choose from a huge list of factions and customize it with various sub-cultures and cults,” the Steam listing teased before adding that we can “fight as a single swordmaster with legendary strength, a rampaging dragon, a swarming horde of Rat-Men, a phalanx of the Garnet City.”

As you can see from the screenshots attached, this sequel is similar in terms of the original’s Spartan aesthetic. There’s a couple of additional images to look at over on Steam if you want them, but I can’t wait to get a proper look at Land of Achra. Stay tuned!
