Dogpile was a whole bunch of fun when I played it a few months ago, and now I need to go back and play some more because apparently there’s been a big ol’ update on PC and even more recently, the game just hit Android, iOS, and Switch 1+2.
Developed by Studio Folly and Toot Games, Dogpile is a deckbuilder fused with the spirit of a Suika-like. That means merging doggos in a giant bit, transforming them into bigger doggos, and trying to cram in as many as you can before you run out of space.
As I just discovered, the game has been updated since launch, with new dogs and traits among the highlights of the big 1.1 update that landed in June. There’s no new content update on PC today, however, the developers did take the opportunity to release a behind-the-scenes documentary called Dogpile – The Dogfiles.
On other platforms, the news is even more exciting. Dogpile is out now on Android, iOS, and both Switch platforms, and it arrives slightly reworked for the touch screen crowd.
“From Dogpile’s conception we knew it was the perfect simple game to take on the go, after all dogs love to walk.” said Darcy Smith, Studio Folly co-founder. “Whether you’re in transit, globetrotting or just curled up on the couch we hope you love huckin’ dogs into the yard and making number, AND DOG, go up.”
Dogpile is light-hearted fun and I’m really pleased to see the game make it beyond the confines on PC.
