A release date has now been set for what is said to be Fable creator Peter Molyneux’s final game, Masters of Albion.

Described as a culmination of the legendary developer’s work, the reimagined god game will launch exclusively on PC via Steam on April 22nd 2026.

In a press release we received, Peter Molyneux said: “Masters of Albion is the culmination of my life’s work, a game that owes so much to titles like Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable. It’s a totally unique game that we hope will delight players, a game that brings God Games into the modern gaming landscape and puts the genre firmly back on the map.”

The game said to give players “extraordinary freedom” with it blending elements of strategy, simulation, town management, and real-time defence. Players can design and build every structure in their towns and villages and can combine building types into unique structures.

Joining Molyneux are industry legends Mark Healey, Russell Shaw, Iain Wright, and Kareem Ettouney, who helped shape classics like Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable.

As mentioned up top, Masters of Albion is said to be Peter Molyneux’s final game with him stating in an interview with Edge that:

“I’m 66 years old. I’m working as hard as I’ve ever worked in my life. And I just haven’t got the life energy left to do this again.”
