Darkest Dungeon II is getting a huge injection of new content in just a few weeks, developer Red Hook Studios has just confirmed.
The main course is the new Kingdoms mode, which is going to remix the entire structure of the game to make a whole new experience. In this new mode, players will be tasked with racing between locations in order to defend their home, in this instance, from beastmen attacks.
The new Kingdoms mode will be split into three modules, with the first called Hunger of the Beast Clan. Two more will follow in the future.
Inhuman Bondage
On top of the free stuff, players can also look forward to the simultaneous release of a returning character, The Abomination, as part of the Inhuman Bondage expansion.
Long-time players will remember this fan-favourite, and just like all the other characters in the game, you can enjoy a fully voiced origin story and unique character items.
The only thing left to do is tell you when and where: Kingdoms and Inhuman Bondage will both land on PC (Mac, Win) on January 27. If you’re on console, however, you’ll have to wait a while longer, with the release date still to be confirmed.
