If you’re on the lookout for a good time, but your wallet is maxed out after a hectic Xmas, look no further than Disfigure. This twin-stick shooter delivers a Lovecraft-inspired low-fi style with a fully kitted roguelite upgrade system for absolutely nothing.
That’s right, Dear Reader, Disfigure is absolutely free to play, and not in the icky way either. It’s just free. The only charge is a voluntary donation you can make to the developer over on Steam, however, once you’ve played the game for a while, I imagine a fair few of you will throw in – simply because Disfigure is a fantastic twin-stick shooter.
Not only is the game disgustingly free, but it has just been updated with some new content. That’s also free. The new Ophidian Update adds an entirely new map and a bunch of new enemy types (including three new bosses). To access the new content, you’ll have to have completed the original map on hard, which means it’ll take a little while to see the new stuff if you’re starting cold.
When you get there, as the name implies, you’ll be greeted by a snake inspired level and a bunch of new enemies. Check out the video below to see the new map for yourself, and you’ll spot a terrifying new boss in there for your troubles. Head this way for more details about the update and to get the game downloading.
