As you might have seen in my ongoing article, I’ve developed quite an obsession with documenting all rogues to be announced for the Switch 2.
The latest newcomer to join this list is Hunter’s Moon: A Sovereign Syndicate, a Victorian steampunk deckbuilder, developed by Crimson Herring Studios and published by Zugalu Entertainment.
What is Hunter’s Moon: A Sovereign Syndicate?
Set in the same universe as the studio’s previous project, Sovereign Syndicate, its story unfolds before the events of the first game. Here, players chose between four characters with unique cards and customise their decks before battling corrupted beasts and bosses in turn-based battles to unlock powerful relics and enchanted tarot cards.
As detailed in a press release we received, the game’s four classes include a hulking brute that smashes everything in their path, a cunning soldier with weapons expertise, and an alchemist with potions, poisons, and explosives. Each class has its own cards, and these can be upgraded to deliver more potent effects.
Hunter’s Moon is said to feature roguelite progression, where players can improve their airship, character, and next run using the materials they salvage. It also has a pretty interesting-sounding tarot card system, allowing players to modify their runs and improve their odds of success.
Hunter’s Moon: A Sovereign Syndicate release date
No release date has been confirmed for Hunter’s Moon, but we know it’s ‘coming soon’ in Q4 2025 to Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. The game can now be wishlished on Steam.
