Tonight’s Convergence Games Showcase delivered strong roguelike representation, with How Many Dudes?, GIMMIKO, and Gunboat God all making appearances.
For us, though, the real star of the show was Everything is Crab, which was revealed to be scuttling onto PC on May 8.
Pitched as Spore meets Vampire Survivors, with the dodge roll of Enter the Gungeon, this animal evolution roguelite has been on our radar for a while. Here, players shape a brand-new creature each run, experimenting with more than 100 unique, evolution-based abilities.
Mike checked out the game during its first playtest and he was a big fan of its creature-evolving gameplay. You can check out his preview here.
Everything is Crab wasn’t the only appearance in the showcase from publisher Secret Mode. Nostalgia-driven football roguelike Nutmeg! also received its very first gameplay trailer which you can watch here.
The new release date trailer for Everything is Crab can be found below:

Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
