It seems many of the internet’s most important debates may finally be settled, as How Many Dudes is set to launch on Android, iOS, and PC on July 30.
The roguelite autobattler lets players put wild internet theories to the test, like how many dudes it would take to beat a gorilla. As you progress, you build up a roster of increasingly strange units, and you can test how far you push them until your run ends in defeat.
The game is said to feature 42 unique dudes across six dude families: Undead Dudes, Employed Dudes, Warrior Dudes, Fantasy Dudes, Sci-Fi Dudes, and Action Dudes. There are also trinkets and relics that you can equip to create powerful synergies with your favourite characters.
A demo for the game was released last December, which attracted 425,000 players and led to 205,000 wishlists. If you’re interested in checking out the game, the demo is still live on Steam. We recently gave the demo a nod in our Steam Next Fest recommendations feature.

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
