It was just a few days ago that Realm of Ink was announced, and now it’s time for a quick follow-up as co-developers Leap Studio and Maple Leaf Studio (try saying those names together ten times fast, I dare you) have good news to share.
The most interesting part of the announcement from my perspective was the news that the devs are planning a closed test for Realm of Ink. According to their blogpost, the next stage is understanding the sign-up process. They’re working on it – that’s the main point.
“We’ll have more detailed instructions coming your way very soon,” they promised, so stay tuned here for more on the closed test, when it’s happening, and how to sign-up.
The game is due out on both PC and consoles in 2024. Meanwhile, the devs celebrated reaching the milestone of 10,000 wishlists. I’m one of them to be fair, so head over to Steam if you want to do the same.

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
