The Triple-i Initiative was the scene for a whole bunch of game announcements and content update reveals, and among them was a little gem for fans of pain, madness, and road trips. That’s right, Darkest Dungeon II is getting an expansion!
The game mode / campaign is called Kingdoms, and the following details were shared over on Steam and YouTube, plus there’s a trailer for your viewing pleasure, if words simply aren’t enough.
This new game mode challenges you to protect and nurture your Kingdom by defending safe havens and purging dangerous environments of insidious threats. Upgrade Inns to bolster defenses, embark on unique quest lines, and fight back against 3 new monster factions – The Coven, Beastmen and Crimson Courtiers.
That’s the official line, but I’ve also saved the best bit for last, and that’s confirmation from Red Hook Studios that the new content campaign is going to be free! Huzzah!
