Ship to ship combat and roguelike gameplay mechanics go together like… two things that go together well. And that’s just one of the reasons why I’m looking forward to seeing more of Roguebound Pirates.

This nautically minded roguelike is the next game from the creator of Mortal Glory 2, a turn-based fantasy gladiator battler that I thoroughly enjoyed earlier this year. That’s another of the reasons.

The third thing that sounds interesting about Roguebound Pirates is the meshing of ship and gun customisation. This looks like it’ll be at the heart of this experience as you battle pirates and privateers for control of the seas.

The fourth reason was the headline in the email that the game’s developer sent me, which states inspiration from Sid Meier’s Pirates! Consider me intrigued.

Roguebound Pirates is going to set sail on PC (Win) at some point in 2025. If you want to wishlist it over on Steam, then X marks the spot.
