Pitched as Hades meets Mario 3D World with mechs! MechAnimals is an adorable beat em’ up roguelike that just dropped a new demo.
The game comes from indie studio BouncyBrain, a team of veteran Hollywood animators whose credits include Kung Fu Panda, The Mario Movie, and Minions. MechAnimals is the debut release for the studio and its look and feel is based on a big-budget Hollywood movie.
According to the game’s Steam description, the game features several different classes of mech suits (Brawler, Long Range, Mobile Fortress, Ninja) and more mechs can be unlocked by completing runs. Each run will also see players encounter new mech parts, weapons and items, and enemy mobs.

If this one looks familiar to you, that’s because it was previously announced as Fluffy X Machina. Whilst I can see what the devs are going for, the new title definitely has a lot more punch to it.
No release date has been confirmed for MechAnimals, but we do know that it’s coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch(es) sometime in the future. Keep an eye on our Nintendo Switch 2 rogues list, as we will be adding this one very soon!
