Okay, I hold my hands up, one great-looking game I initially overlooked at last week’s OTK Gaming Expo was Undermire.
This colourful co-op roguelike adventure sees players descend into an ever-changing magical bunker to confront the dark forces that lie within. One of its standout mechanics is ‘SMUSH,’ which lets you combine everyday junk, like cell phone batteries, hairspray cans, and even frogspawn sandwiches, into experimental weapons and potions.
Undermire features drop in/drop out online co-op for up to four players and has proximity chat, allowing groups to communicate and strategise. Each character’s unique magical tool can be upgraded and combined with mods, creating powerful team synergies.

Your character also has a fear gauge and this increases after running into spooky events. If you don’t keep it in check, you’ll experience strange hallucinations, or even spawn evil creatures.
Developer Table Knight Games has yet to announce a release date for Undermire, but you can now add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
